Wolf Dream
I am in a large country type home. It is Texas Farmhouse style. The rooms are large and airy…mostly
wood. It is older but nice and comfortable. The house has an attractive way of coming
together. There are lots of windows and
light. The floor is hardwood, somewhat
worn, but feels cool and comfortable when you walk on it. There are few window coverings. The light comes right in. There are see through lacy panels over them
but they blow as the breeze comes right in.
The furniture is comfy….nicely arranged but not perfect. It makes you feel good when you look at it
and evokes a pleasant feeling. There
are freshly cut flowers on the tables and you can smell the grass and earth
coming in from outside. You have the
impression there is fresh baked cookies and bread in the kitchen though I do
not see them. I am happy in this house.
There are children there but I do not see them. Larry is there too but I do not see him
either…I just know that they are there.
I go outside to move something in the yard. It looks like a boat that is turned upside
down….the way you would store one not in use.
I lift the boat and move it. It
is not heavy. Underneath it is sandy
…like East Texas Sandy Loam. A little
gecko is hiding there and I worry that he needs his shelter and I hope he will
scoot back under the boat.
There are two very large wolves. They are nearly black. They approach me but do not come up all the
way. I am not afraid of them. Somehow they are supposed to be there with
me. They are beautiful and very
strong. They stay near me wherever I
go. There is another wolf…that is
there also. He is not with the other
two. He is different. He is little and short and has an odd
shape. He is rounded and lightly tanned
in color. His hair sticks out all over
and he is not attractive. Angel, our
17 year old cocker spaniel is there also.
She is quiet but always present.
Suddenly a very large evil wolf comes up. He seems dangerous. I know that my two wolves will protect me but
I worry for everyone else. I open the
screen door so they can all come in. I
wonder about that….it seems crazy to invite all these animals into the house
but to do otherwise is contrary to my nature.
We all go inside. I close the
door on the bad wolf and he goes away.
The two big wolves settle nearby….present….watchful. The unattractive, little wolf lays near
Angel, oblivious to anything that is going on.
Angel, though very old, is also watchful. I know she longs to take her deep nap…that
will take her away from present danger and problems.
I think about what a visitor would think if they came and saw
my guests…but decide I do not care really.
We settle into a comfortable routine.

The house is me. From Texas....older...nice and
comfortable.... has an attractive way of coming together.
:-) I am open and my name...Elaine ...means
light. The lack of solid window coverings ...because I am
open and direct. My inner rooms are firm...hardwood...a bit
worn...but comfortable....nicely arranged but not perfect. I
recognize that in me. I am in touch with things around me...as
in the smells of baking...and the earth and grass. I am happy with
me and my surroundings.

Facets of my personality.....
perhaps.....also the acceptance of my family in my inner life...... It shows that I am moving around some
things in my life. My boat (or mode of
transportation in life... has been beached ....so to speak...upside down and
stored. but...I move it. There is a little gecko...hidden safely and
I am not sure if I am ready for him to come out of his hiding place. I think perhaps that part of me I am holding
back on that needs to move. How
interesting that he is so little.... and doesn't a gecko change colors with the terrain? Need to do some more associations on
him. East Texas Sandy Loam....my
family is from East Texas. Salt of the
earth people.....grounded...good....consistent....They don't move around
much. Yep...that would be me. haha!

These are my helpers....protectors. They take care of me and keep me out of
trouble. I see them as two big
warrior angels. They are one in the
same. I know them well. I love the wolf too. An amazing animal. I was asked once by a counselor what
irresponsible would look like to me.
The little unattractive wolf is what that looks like. I knew it the minute I saw him. haha!
He is almost cute....but odd and in appropriate. Very clueless to what is going on around him
and content to let the others do the work.
hmmmm :-) My dog Angel is my constant
companion. I have raised her from a
puppy. We are in the winter years of
her life. ( she has deceased since I
dreamed this ...prob 7 years ago ) I
have been working out some of my feelings about the aging process with her. Watching her grow old before my
eyes....having no control over that. I
have such a wide variety of feelings...in regards to her. Frustration...protectiveness.....love....and
so on. It has helped me as I watch my
folk’s age...and as I get in touch with my own aging.

I think the large evil wolf may represent the dilemma I am in
now....the " crisis " I am feeling.
All my helpers sensed my concern about it. I sent it away by closing the door and going
inside myself. Everyone is on
alert...and knows I don't like it. I
think perhaps I might be able to have some dialog with this evil wolf...and he
might not be as evil as I thought.
Sometimes uncomfortable areas in our life...like making a new start and
life crossroads...appear threatening. I
may need to get that boat back in the water.
It very much seems in tune with the emotions I am feeling about making
this move from Church of the Resurrection.
How it will affect others. What
will be their reaction? I have been in
a routine. I am aware it is out there
though. I think the Lord is moving me
forward..
My plan
of action: I am going to do
associations on the gecko. I have some
immediate ones...but know I should work on this a bit more. I plan to find some time to dialog with
the evil wolf...he may not be so evil after all. He may have a mission and I have sent him
away without asking. I may think a
bit on the unattractive wolf. The
irresponsible one. I will think about the boat. Try to do some journaling about my thoughts
on that. If I find I feel like it...I
may try to honor the dreamwork with a picture....but give myself permission to
do that later if I need to. I may find I
just need to soak up the beauty of nature....and re energize first. I will journal my actions each night....and
after a few days or so I will try to give more feedback.
