Baby Expo

Hello!
Another day in lovely Melbourne! We started it off with scones & cream and coffee...which was so nice. I sure wish they sold cream like this in America. I like it on everything!! Seems they put it on everything too. :-)

Missy & I headed out fairly early to The Baby Expo. It was pretty much like any other expo at any other convention center..... except this one was for MY grandbaby! :-) That made it fun. We made our way through a sea of pregnant mums, strollers, babies and vendors. Before long we had bags of freebies and though the names were different...for the most part... it was mostly the same diapers ( nappies ), pacifiers, baby slings, clothes & furniture. We did find THE BED & BEDDING! I am not sure we expected that....but when we saw it we knew it was the one. Missy has been leaning toward giraffes for the baby design. Everytime she saw something with giraffes she just loved it. As you can imagine....this bedding has giraffes and in nice soft natural & neutral tones which suits her style.

After the over saturation of baby hype we were ready to chill out a bit and Wes took us to a darling little restaurant area in downtown Melbourne. It was fantastic. We sat outdoors because it is spring here and the weather just perfect and enjoyed a wonderful meal. On the way home we stopped by some friends house to visit and take a look at a wooden cradle they are going to let them use. He is from Germany and she is from Dallas and knew each other before they all moved to Australia with their jobs...so that is really nice. They had a lovely home with lemon and olive trees growing in the yard! It was nice to see how they live on a local level. Interesting to see him take off just before we left with his bag to do the days shopping for their dinner. Missy says that is because the fridge is so little ( about the size of my RV fridge ) and because they like things fresh each day. They don't really live in suburbs like we do....so the grocer and fruit store and such are just blocks over.

Well I must be off to my day. We are going to the Victorian Market. I am not sure what that is but I am sure I will love it!

Blessings to you all!
Elaine
