The Divine Miss C's Second Birthday

Last Sunday Big Daddy and Mimi celebrated The Divine Miss C's 2nd Birthday with her.   Christina, like her brother and father before them, only needs a little encouragement to have a party.   Having slept with her for three weeks in Italy, I can tell you that she wakes up that way every morning.  lol!   She is always full of sunshine and joy.
 Oh Happy Day!

Her mom and dad decided this year it would be a simple gathering of grandparents, mommy, daddy and big brother and save the big parties for another year.  Add to that Chuy Chihuahua, Blind Toby, the gentle giant German Shepherd in the back yard and Paco the Parrot...and it's Party Time!

Her Mommy had everything all pink and pretty and Daddy brought home Red, Hot and Blue...which made Mimi and Big Daddy sing Party Time too!  :)  When we arrived...I am not sure who was more excited, Johnathan or Christina.   He ran up and gave us big hugs...and was practically bouncing off the walls. Christina was grinning from ear to ear and happily showed us the pretty table her mommy set and  her presents where we added our loot.
 Lots of Presents!

While we waited on our yummy meal I had a bit of fun snapping shots of Christina lost in Balloon world...She was clearly transformed..

After we devoured our pulled pork sandwiches and delicious potato salad and fantastic sausages...  it was time for Cup Cakes!  This is the year of the cupcake and these were so delicious and oh so pretty.  These beauties were not held by typical cup cake holders but instead wrapped in the prettiest little paper and so easy to unfold.  We sang happy birthday over Christina's and watched her blow out her candle..  She was so excited and enjoyed every bite.  It was almost as much fun watching her clean off the cupcake and icing..

 Yay!  My Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Next it was time to open presents.  She had lots of help from big brother and took her time on each present.   She had a hard time going on to the next one because she was having such fun.

I had such pleasure watching her open our presents and I had to laugh that she most enjoyed the dollar store fairy wings, tiara and magic wand.  When I found them I knew it would be something I would really want if I were a little girl..  I will always remember hearing her heart felt... ooohhhh when she saw the pretty wings and wanted to wear them immediately..I have images in my head of her going to bed in them... ;)

She received many more wonderful gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Alvarez and her mommy, daddy and brother and each one was lovingly appreciated and enjoyed.   Big Daddy helped put together her new basketball goal and it was the greatest photo opp to see her shoot baskets in her pink tiara and wings.   lol   That one will be in her 18th birthday video.  ;)

At the end of the present opening she crawled in the Pink Teddy Bear sleeping bag that we got her and pretended to sleep..  It brought back memories of my first sleeping bag.  There was something magical about crawling in and snuggling up.

It was a fantastic day..  Mommy and Daddy did a great job planning her big day and our little girl was a wonder to watch as she took in every moment with joy.

Happy Birthday Beautiful Granddaughter!   You are a Blessing and Miracle to our family.

I enjoy looking at your pictures. Your family is growing by leaps and bounds....I only have two grandchildren (now 20 & 21) and they keep me hopping...of course their presents/gifts are quite expensive and I couldn't imagine having eight. Please say hello to all...I love you and look forward to seeing any/all of you again. Lots of Love, Aunt Ruthie

Hi Ruthie and Judy... I am glad you enjoyed the pics... I like to do it because we have lots of kinfolks far away and if we can't "party" together we can at least do it online...as Judy says..:) Thanks for dropping in. :)
