Come to My Kitchen... Eat~Pray~Talk

I started a new facebook page and titled it Come to My Kitchen... Eat~ Pray~ Talk...  It was inspired by my previous JoyMountain post...
Click here to view that JoyMountain post...  Eat, Pray and Talk until we drop

You can talk about anything but  we are for sure going to talk about my favorite subject...God... :)  The title came when a few folks commented about how much they loved sitting in my kitchen doing just that.

Here are a few of my posts...

Mercy me….
I woke up thinking about Grace and Mercy and how awesome God is to give it to us. I wanted to write about it but wasn’t sure how to get started…. Well….this morning I noticed a post from Nancy…and looked it up… She says John 1:16 pretty much says it all for her…….
“And from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
Then I received a call from a very dear friend with an invitation to study and pray each week… Just the medicine I need….good friends, prayer and fellowship. HIS Grace and Mercy at work…because I need just that!
Eph 2:3-5 (NIV) ...Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.

A good way to understand the meaning of mercy is to see how it relates to grace….
Mercy--not getting what you do deserve …or punishment that is withheld.
Grace--getting what you don't deserve or…unmerited favor.
Mercy is like a judge finding you guilty, but then withholding any punishment. Grace is getting something you could never have imagined which is an inexplicable gift.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with fullest confidence, that we may receive mercy for our failures and grace to help in the hour of need.
That pretty much leaves me speechless.....and we all know that doesn't happen often. lol.. Have a Blessed Day!

God is Not Dead
Larry and I watched God's not Dead last night.... and we really liked it! So often Christian movies aren't that great. We support them because we hope the message about the good news of Jesus Christ reaches people. I admit that we were expecting the same sort of movie scenario this time but surprised at how engaged we became with it. One reason is because Larry went through a similar experience when he was in college. So....I heartily recommend viewing it. We were surprised at the feelings that welled up in us. Critics pretty well give it a thumbs down but viewers have given it a good review. Here is a link to the trailer...and yes even the Duck Dynasty guy...is in it. I encourage you not to form an opinion until you give it a try. You might be surprised like we were...

Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much
So much of our frustration and irritability is a reaction to not using our creative powers. All of us have areas of creativity, and each of us has a unique creativity that is especially related to our talents and personality. Whenever we look at others and think, "I can't paint like that," or "I don't have that talent she does," we move a step further away from realizing what "we" have.
When we block our creativity, we lose touch with our joy and liveliness. Is it any wonder that we become cantankerous and try to fill up the loneliness for our creative selves with money and things - which never quite do the job.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,"
