Back in the Saddle Again

-->

So much has happened since I last posted an update I hardly know where to begin!    So I will do a quick overview of a bit of My World.

September
Back to school and Mimi & Big Daddy grandparent duty…. That means you buy all fundraiser offerings.... and attend all events.     Everyone should have such duties…They are awesome!     Football games, cheerleading, tennis, choir, scouts, and tons of fun!    My Holiday stamping classes began and all the fun of creating cards and gifts with my stamping friends.  We are given the good news that our daughter in
law Luisa is again expecting.     Papaw and Missy’s birthday month.  Happy Birthday to you!

November
We started the month attending a Renewal in Christ Retreat.  It was a wonderful weekend with people we love and a great way to spend our anniversary.

Happy Anniversary
Larry and Elaine!

Our grandson Johnathan stayed with us while his mommy and daddy went to Israel for two and a half weeks on a pilgrimage.   We had a blast of course and included a trip to the farm, his Cousin Justin’s football game, his own garage sale where he made $25,  his thanksgiving play at school, a veteran’s day celebration and every day of fun.   Wally came home from Australia to stay with us and Johnathan came with us to pick him up at the airport.  We were so glad to see Wally Boy!  My stamping classes designed for the Holidays stepped it up a notch.     We had a great Thanksgiving gathering at our house with some of the family present.   Missy and Wes of course were still in Australia, Josh, Luisa and Johnathan were with her family this year.   Granny came by to be with us awhile but Papaw, sick with pneumonia was not able to be with us.  We missed those who could not be with us but our time together was precious.   As our season of thanks draws to a close we begin the march to Christmas and the end of 2009.

 December
Lots of stamping classes and my first project completion with My Digital Studio software was sent in for my computer student as a present to her husband…  a photo book.  We are so proud of it!   Our grandson Pierson had his 17th birthday.   He and his friends went on a photo scavenger hunt.   He had a great time and his birthday was honored.  Ashton was in a beautiful Winter Choir performance and Justin was the Angel Gabriel in a play at our Church.     We also celebrated the graduation of my grandson Jim from high school. Congratulations Jimmy!

Christmas Eve

All the Grandkids on Christmas Day

The week following  I was sick with a virus and we celebrated a quiet New Year’s Eve.     The very first day the doctor was open after New Year’s Day I was in the office!

January 2010
Can you believe it is the year 2010!  Back in the day when I was a young-un the year 2010 was all pure science fiction….  Cars that flew….robots cleaning your house….  And funny star trek type clothes…   Didn’t turn out exactly like that….but we have certainly made some changes since those days…     Try Plastic…  (Everything was metal back in the olden days…   and computers….  Didn’t exist.   Walk around phones as my dad first called them….  Car phones…and then personal mobile phones…. And personal pocket computers….and now….da da da da!  Iphones….   Gas got up over $4 a gallon…OMGOsh…it was 17cents a gallon when I was a kid!!   Movie rentals…and then forget that….  Home media centers….  Yes...things have changed...

Most of the month of January was spent trying to get over the virus bug that bit me at Christmas.    It was so nice having my kids at home with us…. And what a sweet help they have been to Larry and I.   I dreamed of doing more of course…   fabulous meals…shopping trips with my daughter and granddaughter…   I didn’t get to do much of that so far….but just waking up each day and seeing their sweet faces….has been pure heaven.  We celebrated Larry’s birthday on the 17th and mine on the 20th.   The good news is after some x-rays and lab work I was told I would LIVE!    For awhile there it would have been hard to convince me.  The flu would have been an improvement!    I was getting real tired of no energy,  activity or friends and family… the things I thrive on.     I have received tons of Birthday and Get Well Wishes that are speeding that ole bug on his way.

It is a birthday month for Judy, Larry, Jimmy,  Elaine, Justin , Granny, and Martha.  Happy Birthday!

I think that pretty much brings you up to date….  I will try to do a bit better in the months to come….  I have so many things I want to talk about and say…. Does that surprise you…      and look forward to chatting more….    May the Lord Bless you as He so richly does me….day by day…
