Ok..since January 17th... when I posted my grandson's video....
The big news was snow in Texas again this year! A BIG one! Those of us that have lived most of our life in Texas without wintery memories like this....are just dazzled. The cold temps were the biggest part of that though... down in the teens and sometimes single digits for a week. School was out for an unheard of 5 days!!! That was mostly due to the cold temps and the demand for heating... It was great fun...and we were homebound.... Fortunately I had stocked up on food the day before...so we were great!
Larry and I have been celebrating our birthdays... The kids took us to dinner. We always enjoy our family time and El Chico is a long time favorite... We had a great waiter....and we ate tex mex like little piggies... We took lots of fun pictures... and all agreed it was a great meal..and evening.
Josh and family treated us to dinner at Chez Abbott's. ( their house ) We were greeted at the door at Josh's house by Johnathan ( towel over arm ) ...who was our waiter for the night... He showed us in to our table and offered us appetisers. Chef Josh was still preparing our meal..of ....this amazing veal dish but I can't think of the name of it.. Some kind of bucco I think... The table was beautifully set by Luisa & Christina... and Johnathan guided us through the entire evening, including our serenade. ( practiced and coached by chef daddy) All was perfection...
Josh and I took a trip to San Antonio to visit a church and school there. Beautiful church and impressive school... We were blessed by the mother son time as well.
Larry's mom came up for a visit as well...and we enjoyed being able to spend some time with her. We hope to take a trip to Tennessee at some point again... but it is nice the grandchildren and great grands can see her too...
We saw our granddaughter Ashton's talent show performance... and she was awesome! She can power out a song that is amazing... We of course all declared she was the winner of that nights entertainment. :)
We enjoyed James's 40th birthday celebration at Missy's house..
(ummm....can anyone tell me how he can be old enough to be 40??!!) Lots of friends and family gathered to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!
Next on the agenda was Justin's last Cotillion dance... Jimmy and I took pictures of Justin and his mom dancing... Justin charmed us with his super dance moves... and polished manners. It was great... and I was a very proud Mimi..
And that should bring us up to Ashton's 14th birthday party at our house... The entire family, including granny and papaw, gathered to celebrate and enjoy her big event... We had do it yourself tex mex... a memorabilia table and of course...gifts.. It was a very happy evening...for our lovely Ashton..
That is pretty much it for the update... Go check out the photo page area.... I will try to post again soon..
Until next time.. Elaine
