Today was our Katie Bug's 3rd birthday and we celebrated just the way she wanted... We had a Pink Birthday at her house. Everything was pink, pink, pink! Her Mommy did an amazing job decorating and getting everything pink....including the food and daddy worked hard to get everything set up and looking nice! It was such fun and I felt a bit like I had walked into Willy Wonka's hometown... ;)

She gave us a big hug when we arrived...and bouncing down the hall and to the living room showed us her wonderland...and where to put our gifts. ;) We were right on time and the house was already filling up with her guests and admirers. The kitchen was adorned with pink wall drapings.. and pink delicacies...such as pigs in a blanket, pink peanut butter and jelly sandwiches ( all made by her Aunt Lara) and pink marshmallows and pink juice pouches....and anything else you can think of. There were pink polka dot balloons everywhere and out back a ginormous pink bouncy castle... Kids were in the pink everywhere you went.

It was great to see everyone...many of them were part of a group of friends that Missy and Wes had before they married....all with little jumping, hopping...happy kiddos. Lots of aunts, uncles, cousins...and great granny Swann was there too. After munching on our pink edibles... we sang Happy Birthday to our special little 3 year old... and served...pink cup cakes... Can you say pink and white frosting everywhere.... Lots of mommies and daddies chasing down those messy young uns... It was great fun though.

Finally it was gift time...and Katie Bug tore into them with great relish... Everything her little heart desired...and then some in duplicates....were in those pretty sacks... including a special little gift sack from me. I decided to pass on my two first cookbooks that my mom sent off for me when I was 10 years old... I have so many...memory items...that everyone is always getting them for various occasions. haha. My way of making sure they are gifted now while I can enjoy watching it. :)

After the gift giving time...and a bit more visiting most folks headed home as our little ones were ready for a nap... Mimi was getting ready for one too. ;) It was a big big day for our special Katie Bug..
